Tangy Sliced Pork Sandwiches

I had part of a pork loin that was leftover from another meal hanging out in my freezer. I was looking for something to make with it and came upon this recipe at Allrecipes.com. It was quick an easy and gave my pork loin some new flavor. It’s not a real heavy flavor, just a nice light flavor that changed my leftovers into another meal. It was tasty and the whole family ate it up. It was also easier to slice my pork loin into thin slice while the meat was still partially frozen. I also think some sauteed mushrooms and onions would make a great addition to this sandwich.

Tangy Sliced Pork Sandwiches

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 pound boneless pork, cooked and sliced thin
4 hamburger buns

Melt butter or margarine in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, sugar, paprika, salt and cayenne pepper. Mix together and bring mixture to a boil, stirring often. Add the cooked pork and let simmer just until pork is heated through. Divide into 4 equal portions onto the bottom of each hamburger bun.

  • I am always looking for something different to pack in my husband's lunches and this fit the bill. I didn't get to taste it because we didn't have too much leftover pork but he said he really liked it.

  • MMMMMMMMMMMM,…these pork sanwiches with the accompanied vegetables are so lovely & look very tasty!!

  • We always have left over pork at our house since I like to bake a big loin. I can't wait to make these sandwiches!
