My go to ice cream topping is hot fudge. I just love the combination of the cool creamy ice cream paired a thick, rich and chocolaty hot fudge sauce. It is even better if it’s topped off with chopped almonds, whipped cream, and a cherry.
I have a microwave version that I love to make. However, I was looking for a simple stove top version using cream and chocolate chips one dat and settled on this recipe. It’s nice and thick.
- 1½ cups whipping cream
- 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ tsp vanilla
- In a large sauce pan bring cream to a simmer. Then mix in chocolate chips and brown sugar. Stir until all the chips are melted.
- Add the butter and vanilla. Stir until the sauce is smooth without any sugar grains.
