Caramel Banana Topping

Here is the waffle topping I promised. It’s a great alternative to the typical berries on a waffle. It is also fabulous on chocolate waffles, but regular waffles are tasty too.

I got this recipe years ago from a Bisquick cook booklet. You could even use it on ice cream. Another bonus is it is so quick and easy to put together. I also like to add a scoop of sweetened whipped cream on top.

Caramel Banana Topping
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup whipping cream
  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 medium bananas, sliced
  1. In 1 quart saucepan, mix all topping ingredients except bananas. Heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring occasionally; remove from heat.
  2. Gently stir in bananas until well coated. Keep warm. (This topping makes enough to cover 3 large Belgian sized waffles)
