Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

Who doesn’t love Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread? This is the recipe that I have been making for 14 years now. This recipe comes from my mother in law. I love the combination of spices that are in this bread. It also calls for oil, which I like because I use canola oil in it. If you don’t have a pumpkin bread recipe, give this one a try.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

1 lg. can (29 oz.) pumpkin
4 ½ cups flour
1 ½ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp. nutmeg
1 ½ tsp cloves
5 eggs
1 ½ tsp soda
4 ½ tsp cinnamon
1 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp ginger
3 ½ cup sugar
2 cups oil

Mix all but chocolate chips. Add chips. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Makes 4 medium loaves.

  • I pretty much ate this for breakfast every day for a week! I made a loaf for our family, a loaf for a friend and shared the recipe with another friend. You can't have fall without pumpkin bread and this is a great recipe. I prefer it with Chocolate Chips.
