Today’s hot chocolate recipe all comes together in a slow cooker. This recipe also calls for a can of sweetened condensed milk which gives it some extra sweetness. The thing I love about this recipe is if you give the hot chocolate a good whisking after it is finished you can get a little frothy top on it. Mmmmmmm.
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 1 (14 oz) can of sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 6 cups milk (I used Skim)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Add all the ingredients to your slow cooker and stir until the condensed milk is well blended into the mixture.
- Cover and cook on low for 2 hours – whisking it every 30 minutes.
- Once the 2 hours is up give it a final whisk and serve. Makes about 12 (1 cup) servings.

I find it rather comical you used skim milk – like the heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk could be offset??? This looks delicious, but I will not be trying it as it most definately is NOT diabetic friendly.
OMG! Someone brought this to work and it was a hit. It is like havinga dessert in a cup. Sooo good. You will not be dissapointed.
The co-worker that brought it forgot to put the vanilla and it was still awesome.
What a wonderful looking recipe!!! I am going to make it for my daughter’s 1st BDay party tomorrow….about how much does it make?

I’ve seen this recipe on Pinterest and I haven’t tried it yet. I can see the appeal if you need to make it for a crowd.
Ohhh I would have never thought to make hot chocolate in the slow cooker! I love this idea and think that it would be perfect to create for a brunch (or children’s sleep over) and serve as part of a hot chocolate ‘bar’ filled with all sorts of hot chocolate toppings.
