Quick Pizza Dough

So after making the Chicago-style garlic and butter pizza crust, I decided I wanted to get a few more yummy pizza recipes to add to my collection. I found a recipe at Baking Like Betty. It was a pizza crust that you mix up and use right then, no waiting or rising. So I gave it a try over the weekend. This crust was simple to make and the whole family loved it. Tomorrow I’ll share a recipe for a white pizza sauce that I tried this weekend too. Thanks Lisa for this quick pizza crust recipe! We topped this crust with my homemade pizza sauce and then went for good old pepperoni and cheese.

Quick Pizza Crust
1 package of yeast
1 C warm water
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 T oil
2 1/2 C flour
2 T cornmeal (optional for sprinkling on cookie sheet)
Dissolve yeast in warm water and add sugar. Let yeast sit about 10 minutes (you want it good and foamy). Stir in remaining ingredients until blended. Beat vigorously 20 strokes. (I did this all in my kitchen aid) Allow dough to rest 5 minutes in a bowl with saran wrap or a towel over it. Preheat oven to 425, spread dough onto a lightly greased baking sheet sprinkled with corn meal (optional). Top with desired toppings and bake for 20 minutes (I used a pizza stone and mine was ready in 15 minutes). This makes 1 (14 inch) pizza.

I found your recipe through a Pinterest search. This was by far the quickest pizza dough I’ve ever made, and no flavor was sacrificed! Thanks for a terrific recipe. I’ll be making this pizza dough again.

Thanks for another great recipe Laura! Made individual pizzas for family night and the kids had a great time rolling their crusts out and putting the toppings on. Not only was it fun but they tasted great too!

I stumbled across your recipe a few weeks ago. We have been doing a pizza night every week, with the money crunch I'm making it instead of ordering. I have a family of 6 so I double the recipe. I love your recipe, very simple for the non-bread maker! Perfect thick crust! Thank you so much for posting this!

I have been looking for a homemade pizza recipe to try. I’m going to give this one a go this weekend. It looks like your pizza was quite thick once baked…was it? I was hoping to find a thicker pizza dough recipe.

you are officially my new hero! A delicious pizza dough that doesn’t take hours to make! Granted I don’t have kids (yet) but, with working 40 hours while going to school part-time, I just don’t have the time to make a two hour pizza dough. Thanks for sharing this recipe! : ) looks delicious!

It looks really good! It looks really thick and bready, did you roll it out really thin?
