Every have some leftover watermelon that you want to do something with rather than just eat it by the slice? This is a perfect solution. Try a refreshing Strawberry-Watermelon Slush. The recipe came from Taste of Home. The watermelon and strawberry combo taste different. It surprised my mouth to have those two flavors together. The lemon juice also helps bring out that fresh flavor. It was however surprisingly refreshing and hit the spot on a hot Summer day. It’s quick, easy and was just what I needed to beat the heat!
Strawberry-Watermelon Slush
- 2 cups cubed seedless watermelon
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, halved
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 2-4 cups ice cubes ( I use more like 4 cause I like a thick slush)
In a blender, combine the watermelon, strawberries, sugar and lemon juice; cover and process on high until smooth. While processing, gradually add the ice cubes; process until slushy. Pour into chilled glasses; serve immediately. Yield: 5 cups.

Yum! I’m sipping mine right now. Thanks for sharing.
YUMMY! I made this tonight and we loved it! Thanks for the nice and refreshing recipe.
Why so much lemon juice? Can I omit it and still have a great smoothie where I am allergic to citrus? I cannot even touch it without getting a rash.
Thanks!
Yum! Strawberries and watermelon are my sons’ favorite fruits and I just bought some of both this morning. Perfect! Thanks!! I’m sure they will all love it.
