This week, I’m embracing all things red, white, and blue to celebrate the spirit of the season! With the 4th of July right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to add a splash of patriotic fun to your food. One of my favorite festive treats? This Easy Flag Fruit Pizza—it’s bright, beautiful, and incredibly simple to make, making it an ideal addition to any Independence Day gathering.
Can you believe how fast summer is flying by? It feels like we just unpacked the picnic blankets, and now we’re gearing up for fireworks and BBQs. Every year, I make sure to include a dish that reflects those classic patriotic colors, and this fruit pizza never disappoints. It’s eye-catching, refreshing, and always one of the first desserts to disappear.

The cookie base starts with a shortcut I love—refrigerated sugar cookie dough. I use two rolls to fill a jelly roll pan, then bake it into a golden brown, slightly chewy crust. If you’re feeling extra ambitious, go ahead and use your favorite homemade sugar cookie dough—it’s a great way to put your own spin on it.
Once the crust has cooled, it’s topped with a light cream cheese mixture made from cream cheese, marshmallow crème, and a splash of orange juice concentrate. That citrusy note adds a lovely, unexpected brightness that complements the fresh berries beautifully. Strawberries and blueberries are all you need to create that iconic American flag design, but feel free to swap in raspberries or blackberries if you’d like. Not a fan of orange? A bit of lemon juice works wonderfully too.
Whether you’re hosting a backyard bash or just looking for a fun treat to share with family, this patriotic dessert delivers festive flair with minimal effort.
Ingredients for American Flag Fruit Pizza
- REFRIGERATED SUGAR COOKIE DOUGH
- LIGHT CREAM CHEESE
- ORANGE JUICE CONCENTRATE
- ORANGE JUICE
- MARSHMALLOW CREME
- COOL WHIP
- FRESH STRAWBERRIES
- FRESH BLUEBERRIES
Instructions for Easy Flag Fruit Pizza
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Unroll the sugar cookie dough and press it evenly into the bottom of a 15½ x 10½-inch jelly roll pan to form the crust. For a smooth, level base, lay a sheet of parchment or wax paper over the dough and gently roll it out with a rolling pin.
Bake the crust for 16–20 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn golden and the center is set. Remove from the oven and allow the crust to cool completely before adding any toppings.
While the crust cools, prepare the fluffy cream cheese frosting. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese with the orange juice concentrate with an electric mixer until silky smooth. Blend in the marshmallow crème, then fold in the whipped topping until light and creamy. Spread this mixture in an even layer over the cooled crust.
Now for the fun part—decorate! Arrange blueberries in the upper left corner to form the “star field,” then line up strawberry halves in rows to create the red stripes of the flag. Get the kids involved or go full-on Pinterest-perfect—either way, it’ll be a hit!
This festive fruit pizza serves 36 and is the perfect no-fuss dessert for your Fourth of July celebration, Memorial Day, summer potluck, or backyard bash.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make this dessert ahead of time?
Yes! You can bake the cookie crust and prepare the cream cheese topping a day in advance. Store the topping separately in the fridge. For the freshest look and texture, add the fruit toppings the day you plan to serve.
What fruits work best for the flag design?
Blueberries and strawberries are classic, but you can also use raspberries, blackberries, or banana slices (tossed in lemon juice to prevent browning) to create the red and white stripes.
Can I use homemade sugar cookie dough?
Absolutely! Store-bought dough is convenient, but homemade sugar cookie dough works beautifully if you prefer a from-scratch base.
How do I keep the crust from getting soggy?
Make sure the crust is completely cooled before adding the cream layer. Also, avoid assembling the fruit too far in advance—juicy fruits can release moisture over time.
Can I use frozen fruit?
Fresh fruit is best for appearance and texture. Frozen fruit tends to release too much liquid and can make the topping runny.
How should I store leftovers?
Cover tightly with plastic wrap or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It’s best enjoyed within 1–2 days, as the fruit may begin to soften.
