Freezer Taco Filling

Tacos are a staple in my house and are probably a staple at your house too! I have a great taco filling recipe for you today that you can keep in the freezer.

You can freeze it all or eat half for dinner and freeze the other half. It’s great to keep on hand when you need a meal in a jiffy. It also works well on a taco salad too.

  • Hi Laura! Thank you for sharing this simple, delicious, great recipe! Ever since you posted it, I’ve been thinking about it and wondering if I should try it. I finally did so, 2 weeks later. When I make taco meat, i just cook the ground meat and then add about a 1/4 of the seasoning packet (just dry, I don’t follow the directions on the package). When I saw your recipe, I was a little hesitant because of the brown sugar and tomato sauce , but I kept thinking about wanting to try it in the back of my mind. I am glad I did try it, because it’ll probably be how I make it from now on. I didn’t freeze it, we actually ate it the night I made it. The night I made it, it was a little drippy (meaning wet, and dripping out of the taco) and a little sweet, but then when I re-heated it the next day for lunch, it was perfect!!! It wasn’t \drippy\ and the sweetness wasn’t as strong as that first night, but just the right amount. Of course, you could obviously adjust it to your individual taste, and not put as much brown sugar in it, but for me, I liked it and so did my picky kids!!! Thanks again! (In fact, the next time I go to the store, I’m buying more meat to make it again!)
