Chocolate Chip Cake Mix Cookie Bars

Today’s cake mix recipe is for a simple cookie bar. These are moist and chocolaty. Not only doe this recipe use a cake mix but it gets even more most with the addition of a package of pudding. They are called cookie bars but have more of a brownie like consistency. The great thing about these kind of recipes is you can change the cake mix and the chocolate chips for a new version.

How about using a chocolate cake mix and chocolate pudding with peanut butter chips? Or how about M & M candies in place of the chocolate chips? Or you could even use a devils food cake mix and fudge pudding mix with white chocolate chips. The possibilities are endless.

  • Just put another batch in the oven. Used golden butter cake and butterscotch pudding this time. Have made it at least six times now. and change out the mix and pudding flavors each time. They always come out awesome, and the new family favorite. Recommended add-ins: only a handful of chocolate chips on top instead of the suggested amount, nuts and Heath bar chips. Naked blondies are also great!

  • I have Pillsbury cake mix with pudding already in the mix. Do I still need to add the package of pudding?

  • made this delicious dessert and it was awesome! Only took 15 mins in my oven. Can’t wait to try it again and try it with the cheesecake pudding!

  • I think I’m going to be making these using lemon cake mix, cheesecake pudding, white chocolate chips, and fresh blueberries. Omg yummmmmmmmmm
