Simple Sloppy Joes

Sloppy joes are a kid friendly dish for sure. It always helps to have a few different versions in your arsenal of recipes to change things up or use what you have on hand. This one uses a base of tomato sauce and ketchup along with a few spices you should have on hand. It also makes a great summer meal. Just add some salad and chips and you are ready to go.

Simple Sloppy Joes
  • 1½ lbs. grund beef
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1½ tsp dried minced onion
  • ½ tsp sage
  • 1½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 8 large hamburger buns
  1. Brown the beef in a large skillet until full cooked. Drain off any grease.
  2. Add tomato sauce, ketchup mustard, dried onion, sage, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and brown sugar. Stir well and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Serve on buns. Serves 8.
