Olive Garden Salad Dressing

I am a big fan of Olive Garden Salad dressing.  Give me a bowl of soup, some bread sticks, and their salad and I am a happy girl.  I was excited when I found a copy cat version of their dressing that I had not tried.  All of the ones I had tried didn’t quite compare.  I tried this one and after a few tweaks, I think it is pretty darn close.

However, right after trying this recipe I had heard that Sam’s Club was now an exclusive carrier of Olive Garden’s dressing now available in a bottle.  I went the next day to buy it.  It was right around $7 for 2 bottles that are each 20 oz.  So you can make this version or get it in a bottle from Sam’s Club.  Either way it is delicious.  Just remember to get the lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, olives, croutons, and banana peppers (I skip these) to make your own at home version of Olive Garden’s Salad.  Oh, and the Parmesan too, if you like that on there also!

  • I like this dressing.

  • I always just use the good seasons garlic packet and to me that is just like Olive Garden if not better. I don’t add anything extra. Just the seasoning packet oil, water and vinegar.

  • This dressing is VERY good VERY close but still not Olive Garden they must be leaving something out our they would be out of business, just saying!!! I’ve heard you can buy the dressing at Sam’s Club also know as Wal-Mart Super store 2 bottles for 7$ Maybe I’ll try that some day

  • This is on the button. I tried it without the first ingredient as I did not have it, and the taste was certainly Olive Garden’s salad dressing. Thanks.

    • How could you have tried it without the first ingredient?
It is the main ingredient. Can you please explain?
Also, what type of vinegar did you use?

  • I would add some anchovy paste..>wink< see if that helps finish it off to prefection. I'm not a fan of anchovy paste but in this case it was right on the mark! Yummy. Thanks.

  • has anyone tried this version yet? I had another, similar but not the same, and it wasn’t as healthy as this version and got some (lots) of bad reviews.

  • Thanks for posting this! I have been looking for this recipe.

Just to verify: So, you make the good seasons salad dressing with oil and vinegar and then add all of the other ingredients?

  • Extremely delicious!

  • You can also purchase a the dressing from Olive Garden but I imagine it’s more costly than making it at home!

  • Sounds good; I am not a big Olive Garden fan but I do like their dressing.
