Tater Tot Casserole

This recipe is one that I have been making since I was married 17 years ago.  I got it from a friend and made my own changes to the original.  It is one of my husbands favorite dishes.  When we were first married I would make the whole pan and then we would take the leftovers to work for lunches.  I must say I got my fill of the casserole back then, but my hubby never tired of it.  I still surprise him with it occasionally since he loves it so much.  It is one of those dishes that doesn’t photograph well, but it very tasty.

Love me some tater tot casserole! We always put the meat and cheese on the bottom and tots on top, makes them nice and crispy when baking! Deliciousness.

I make a version of this, but it’s a tad bit different. I use green beans instead of corn and I put the tots on top! It’s a family favorite!! This one sounds yummy, too!! =)

My husband loves Tator Tot Casserole. I on the other hand could easily live without it. So when I make it the ground beef has to be seasoned well with salt and pepper and onion. I always bake the tator tots first and. Just as someone else mentioned, the tator tots go on the top when I make this. They turn out extra crispy which makes it more tatsy. I do NOT like soggy tots.

I make this with cream of chicken or cream of celery and I mix it when half way through cooking breaking up all the potatoes and put Parmesan on top and put back in oven

Heehee. I love tatertot casserole, but at our house we used canned green beans instead of corn and often flipped it upside down so that the tatertots were on top. That way you could arrange them in rows and other designs. :)

I was wondering if you think it would be good by substituting cream of mushroom for cream of chicken. Me and my family don’t care for mushrooms or the taste of the soup.

We love tatertot casserole! It’s such a quick fix! (I believe you left out the cheese in the ingredients :)
